When you need a DPMInstalling a DPM is an essential element, as it acts as a barrier to prevent damp rising up through the substrate, from the ground below. PROBOND® PR298 works as a DPM where a structural damp proof membrane is not present or is defective, or where the residual moisture content is up to 98% RH. After curing, the membrane produced can accommodate 98% (Relative Humidity) RH on cement screeds and 87% RH on anhydrite / calcium sulphate screeds without any bond strength issues.
PROBOND® PR298 is structured to resist water, grease, oil, dilute mineral and organic acids. It is a two-part, solvent free, epoxy damp proof membrane. It is a one-coat system, however if a structural membrane is not present PROBOND® PR298 should be applied as a 2-coat system.

Two coats. Apply both coats to a coverage of 18-22m² per 10kg. Coverage depends on type of substrate and porosity. Let the first coat cure before applying the second.
A fast curing system, PROBOND® PR298 cures in 4-5 hours. Within 24 hours of PROBOND® PR298 being applied, PROBOND® FL390 and FL301 can be applied directly to the surface without the need to prime. If 24 hours has elapsed, or other products (instead of FL390 or FL301) are used (such as PROBOND® FL325, FL307 or FL330) within 24 hours, the surface must be primed with one coat of PROBOND® PR260. If the DPM is tacky, it is not fully cured and additional time should be left for curing.
Our single component moisture suppressant
PROBOND® PR295 is a ready rapid drying, water-based (and solvent free) moisture suppressant primer membrane, which enables earlier installation of floor coverings.
It removes the need to prime and has a very fast cure time.

We are able to recommend PROBOND® PR295 for the following substrates:
A variety of substrates including concrete ﬂoors, sand/cement screeds and most absorbent construction materials. However, it is not suitable for use with very dense substrates and calcium sulphate subfloors.
It should not be used in projects where hydrostatic pressure is present, where the use of pressure relief drainage and/or external tanking systems must be the primary method of protection against moisture. Not recommended where underfloor heating is present.

The importance of a good Primer
Applying the right floor primer can vastly improve adhesion of levelling compounds to subfloors, resulting in a more secure installation and saving you time in the long run. It also maximises flow of levelling compounds and provides optimum strength development.
The correct application of a suitable floor primer, helps control the absorbency and drying rate of your flooring adhesive and increases overall bond strength. Plus, priming significantly reduces drying shrinkage and improves resistance to water, shock, frost and chemical damage.
